TRY SHINNY FOR FREE!
For the next three weeks, players ages 4-10 may come to Chase Arena, meet our LTP director, Coach Lauren Thomson, and get to experience the party on ice known as "shinny".
Shinny is a less-structured way of letting kids learn hockey fundamentals through free-play on ice. We have found that kids who are allowed to get into "flow-state" and have uninterrupted fun get far more out of their time on ice. They enjoy higher quality development outcomes than kids who stand in lines and do choreographed drills:
- They find their balance points on edges more quickly
- They have far less fear of failure
- They get exponentially more reps
- They come back at far higher rates (did you know the dropout rate for 5-year olds in hockey is 85% - our program formats, including shinny keeps kids around far longer!)
ANY player who is looking to participate in the Comet LTP program this fall is welcome to attend these sessions FOR FREE!

Hockey Night in Natick (August 23)
This year's FREE Hockey Night in Natick event for the LTP kids will take place on August 23 at Chase Arena at 1PM.

Learn to Play 26-27 Registration is COMING SOON!!
The LTP program will have three sessions starting in September.
Our LTP program is led by the amazing Lauren Thomson, who has years of experience coaching our youngest players.
Learn to Play hockey is a commiunity affair, and we welcome parents (with and without prior coaching and hockey backgrounds) to volunteer to help on-ice and off-ice.
The goal of the program is to introduce your children, as young as the age of 4, to the game of ice hockey with an emphasis on safety, fun, and sportsmanship.
First time skaters are welcome. Our goal is to teach a new skater how to skate and then introduce them to the game of hockey.
We also have a great series of parent and coaching events and zoom sessions where we will help folks get oriented to the unique aspects of helping young kids get oriented to hockey, as well as go over how long-term athletic development in the sport of hockey works.

Ages
Learn To Play is for ages 4 - 10. Participants must be at least 4 years old at the session commencement date and must be able to work on his/her own in a large group setting.

Jersey
A Learn To Play jersey is provided to each participant.
Spring Shinny LTP Kick-Off!
Free for any player looking to get some reps in a fun "Shinny" environment.
Full hockey gear is required. Open to ages 5-10.
Ability Level: Must be able to not need parental assistance on the ice. Beginner skaters are welcome!
